How to set up VPN on Samsung Epic 4G

The Samsung Epic 4G running on Android 2.1 supports for VPN connectivity, which stands for Virtual Private Network. If you don’t know how to set up VPN on Samsung Epic 4G, this article will be the best teacher. READ!

Add a new VPN connection

  1. Tap on the Home icon, press Menu > Settings > Wireless & networks > VPN settings > Add VPN
  2. Select one from the several options:
  • PPTP
  • L2TP
  • L2TP/IPSec PSK VPN
  • L2TP/IPsec CRT VPN

      3.    Fill in VPN details including VPN name, VPN server and more

Connect to the VPN

  1. Tap on the Home icon, press Menu > Settings > Wireless & networks > VPN settings
  2. You will see a list of added VPN connections
  3. Touch the VPN you want to connect to
  4. You will see a dialog box which requests for your credentials, enter them and tap on  connect

    Were these procedures tested on actual Samsung EPIC? Was unsuccessful. But did the exact same steps on my wife’s HTC EVO and connected with no problems. Am assuming Samsung’s version of Android still has bugs in this area?
