If you install kies and has problems and try to uninstall the KIES software, you may un installed the USB Driver too.
So try download usb driver and install it again.

USB port mapping–> be configured as:
Option 1: Samsung Kies Mode:
The KIES connection mode allows for future desktop tool use, mass storage, and media player all in one mode.
Option 2: Media player Mode:
To connect as a portable media device to a PC where an application such as Windows Media Player can detect the phone
Option 3: Mass storage Mode:
To connect as a portable hard drive device to a PC where an application such as Windows Explorer can detect the phone and allow the exchange of files
